Today was the first day of Ellie's new job. She had decided that, while she loved taking care of the horses at The Gig, she did not like the part of the job that required her to be outside during the winter

Ellie tried listening to her iPod on her way to the stable, but every song was the exact same. There was the sounds of bells everywhere and it was kind of annoying. At least she didn't have to worry about it agitating the horses. They seemed content as they trotted around in the paddock.
Ellie arrived at the stable, this time without the droid baby since Jonas was taking care of her today. So at least things seemed more normal this week. Or at least they were until she went to fill one of the troughs with water. She was not expecting eggnog to pour out instead. Ellie just shook her head. Only on this island.
Ellie arrived at the stable, but she was not alone. Since it was her turn to take care of droid baby Sarah, she brought her along. At least the baby wasn't being too fussy. A crying droid baby would probably irritate the horses.

Ellie arrived, took care of the horses, then let them out into the paddock for exercise. She then gave them their usual snacks, carrots included this week. They didn't seem to be in attack mode this time. Ellie was very appreciative of that, as were the horses.
Ellie was not expecting to have to dodge attacking vegetables on the way to the stable. That would explain why, as she took care of the horses, she kept a wary eye on the carrots.
"You're all getting apples today," she said to the horses.
It was a partially sleepy Ellie who arrived at the stable today, so it was probably a good thing she stopped for caffeine on the way over. Like always, she did not share it with the horses. She did let them out into the paddock, though, and gave them their usual snacks. They did not seem to have any complaints.
Though she was slightly disappointed that vacation was over, Ellie was glad to be taking care of the horses again. After letting them out into the paddock, she stood by the fence and watched them for awhile. It was good to be back.
